Cycling

Zach likes to ride his recumbent bicycle. Over the years he has owned several different bikes, including a Bianchi Volpe, two different Bacchetta Giros, an HP Velotechnik Scorpion Fx tricycle, and now an HP Velotechnik StreetMachine.  The StreetMachine is nearly perfect for the type of riding Zach enjoys.

Zach has been bicycle touring in a few places around the world including New Zealand, Central Europe, and of course, the U.S. Most of these trips are with Jennifer, who also rides a recumbent (hers is a Volae Century). They blog about them on theirAdventure Blog.

Zach also enjoys rides with his buddy Geoff Hazel.  Geoff is an avid randonee rider, so they often do those types of rides together. Although these rides are not a race, they usually entail a long distance in a relatively short time, which can be challenging and rewarding.
